The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025) – What to Know About the Scariest Goodbye

Horror fans, get ready—The Conjuring: Last Rites is coming to theaters on September 5, 2025, and it’s being called the darkest film in the entire franchise. This movie marks the final chapter for Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, and it promises to go out with a seriously creepy bang.

This time, the Warrens are tackling the infamous Smurl Haunting, a terrifying true story from Pennsylvania in the 1970s and ’80s. Picture: strange noises, violent activity, and a demon with a serious vendetta. Director Michael Chaves (who also directed The Devil Made Me Do It and The Nun II) says fans should expect the scariest ride yet.

Alongside Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, the film introduces:

  • Mia Tomlinson as Judy Warren

  • Ben Hardy as Tony Spera

  • Plus new characters tied to the Smurl family haunting

With this lineup, horror fans can expect fresh chills while still saying goodbye to the franchise’s beloved paranormal duo.

To celebrate the release, Warner Bros. is opening The Conjuring Occult Museum in London (Sept. 1–3, 2025) fans can walk through eerie sets and see original props from the set. And if you thought popcorn buckets were boring, think again. Regal Cinemas is dropping an Annabelle-themed popcorn bucket that’s just as creepy as it is collectible. Imagine eating popcorn straight out of Annabelle’s head. Yum? Or nope?

If you’re a horror fan, The Conjuring: Last Rites isn’t just another scary movie—it’s the grand finale of a decade-long horror franchise. Whether you’re rewatching the earlier films on HBO Max or planning a spooky movie night before the release, this is one haunting you won’t want to miss.
