Wednesday Season 2 Premieres Today on Netflix: What to Expect

The long‑awaited Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday arrives today, August 6, 2025, with the first four episodes now streaming. The second half—Part 2—is scheduled for release on September 3, 2025.
The opening episode, titled “Here We Woe Again,” was co-written by creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and directed by Tim Burton. All four episodes drop simultaneously at midnight PT / 3 a.m. ET in the U.S.

Season 2 leans into heavier gothic horror and mystery. Wednesday, now reluctantly famed after Season 1, must navigate unwanted attention, a new stalker, and disturbing prophetic visions inherited from her mother Morticia.
The school–family boundaries crumble as Pugsley joins Nevermore, and Wednesday confronts her grandmother Hester Frump (played by the iconic Joanna Lumley) amid twisted family revelations and supernatural suspense.

Season 2 significantly ups the production scale—filmed across Ireland—and introduces new characters, including Steve Buscemi as new principal Barry Dort, Billie Piper, Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd, and Lady Gaga in Part 2 as enigmatic music teacher Rosaline Rotwood, who also performs a new track, “Dead Dance”. Ortega also takes on a producer role, shaping Wednesday’s arc with a focus on personal growth over romance.

Wednesday Season 2—Part 1 drops today, Part 2 on September 3. With Jenna Ortega deeply involved as an actor and producer, the show delivers bigger visuals, a broader cast, and a spookier tone. While critics debate whether breadth undercuts depth, viewers seem captivated—and part one closes on a gripping cliffhanger.

Stick around for Part 2, and ride the gloom back into Nevermore.
